Freesia Spa at Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort & Spa, is located in Herold’s Bay in George, South Africa. The design of Freesia Spa is a perfect reflection of the majestic scenery that surrounds Oubaai, a tranquil retreat where the Outeniqua Mountains roll into the Indian Ocean. Local wood, an abundance of water and vistas overlooking the Indian Ocean define the Spa. Freesia Spa comprises seven treatment suites, including one couple’s suite, with each suite featuring a steam room, a shower and a dressing area, creating a private sanctuary that will energise and nourish the body, mind and spirit. Three life-giving elements are the core of all treatments at Freesia Spa, namely the vital light of the sun, the gentle vapour arising from the ocean and the verdant earth. Harnessing the energy, nourishment and lushness of local elements and products has been the inspiration for the Freesia treatments. An extensive array of retreats, rituals and therapies ensures that a Freesia experience is a journey of physical and spiritual renewal. Signature treatments include the four-hour “Vital Light” retreat featuring an aromatic steam, a geranium body polish, an illumination facial and an African rhythm wood massage (using hand-crafted mpingo wood elements). A tranquillity lounge and pool complete the Freesia experience. Using locally produced, African products with indigenous oils such as marula, baobab and rooiboos extract ensure that the Freesia experience is not only a sensory journey but an authentic African experience. Freesia Spa is part of the Hyatt Pure - a worldwide collection of extraordinary spas. Each spa is custom-designed to embrace the local environment and culture to provide an authentic indigenous experience. Returning to the true definition of spa, “sanitas per aquas”, Latin for “healing by waters”, treatments and services incorporate the principles of hydrating the body to promote wellness and renewal.
