We offer you the oldest form of flight known to man. This is the ultimate air adventure. Experience the fascination of free flight with a panoramic view over scenic countryside. As you float along at tree top height, you may catch sight of a variety of wildlife and interact with the people below. Tranquillity and calm, leisurely yet inspiring are word frequently used by our guests.
The Hot Air Ballooning Experience
We fly at sunrise every day of the week (weather permitting). Join us for tea or coffee, and watch the crew prepare the balloon for flight. The air adventure flights last approximately an hour and on landing, wherever that may be. Sparkling wineand / or orange juice is served while the crew pack away the hot air balloon. A retrieval vehicle will return you to the venue for breakfast, where your pilot will award you with a commemorative certificate.
Where do we fly from?
Air to Air Africa - Hot Air Balloon Operators is based in the Cradle of Humankind, near Lanseria Airport (about 35km north-west of Johannesburg in Gauteng). This area is a World Heritage Site which includes Game & Nature reserves, on the banks of the Crocodile River.
For large groups we can fly from a site of your choosing, if at all suitable be it your backyard or a field local to you.
Please take Note of the following:
Passengers don't have to be physically fit, but landings can sometimes be bumpy. Therefore please discuss your concerns with us. Special care will be given to elderly, yougsters and pregnant women.
-Be prepared to stand in the basket for at least an hour
-Youngsters are welcome but should be at least 1.2m (4 foot) tall, so they can see over the rim of the basket.
-We do not allow babies in arms to fly hot air balloons
